- I have spent the past 23 years married to my wonderful husband working together to raise our four children. Since the death of our oldest son who was KIA in Iraq I have had a political awakening of sorts. Niche is my journal about journey on the path of grief since Pokey was killed. Thoughts will cover current events,political, military, my own opinions and what ever I find interesting about society in the news.

What a beautiful video.
So many of us walk this earth and we may wonder at times what our role is, why are we here? I fear some of us end our days never finding that answer.
Your son made a difference in this world. He affected the lives of Iraqi citizens seeking that glorious feeling of freedom. And he affected the lives of Americans, like me, who are in awe of his spirit, his devotion, his commitment and his sacrifice.
